Training for Kettlebells
In the past several years there has been a large influx of kettlebells training courses. Several companies offer training courses to help individuals become a kettlebells instructor. These courses are all different and offer a different level of training. Therefore, it is important to find a qualified kettlebell training course.
A quality kettlebell training course should have specific components. This is essential to learning how to use kettlebells effectively and how to teach clients the proper use of kettlebells.
Kettlebells Training Course Requirements:
- Physical component
- Classroom instruction
- Instruction time
- Certification
These components are further explained below.
Physical Component - The first component a training course should have is a physical element. Kettlebells is a physical workout so all potential trainers should learn the basic movements using a kettlebell. The best way to learn the movements is to do them repeatedly in a workout setting. A good kettlebell training instructor will not only teach the movements, but help trainees in other areas.
It is important to be able to execute the movements well so one can model the movements in the future as a trainer.
However, it is just as important to be able to identify when a movement is being completed incorrectly and how to correct it successfully.
The only way to learn these skills is to be in a physical gym setting with a kettlebells training instructor guiding one through this process.
Classroom Instruction - Another important component of a kettlebells training course is class time. Kettlebells is a complete physical all over body workout. This workout targets many areas of the body and many different body systems. It is important for trainers to understand the effects of kettlebells so one can easily explain the advantages of kettlebells to future clients.
Classroom instruction time will also help a trainer know which kettlebells movements to use and with which clients. For example, some clients may desire a strength training workout. A qualified kettlebells trainer will know which movements should be combined with other movements to create the most effective strength training workout.
Instruction Time – Quality kettlebells training courses should cover all the basics of kettlebells. This means that most courses should be at least a day or two in length. Some companies are offering half day training courses or even training courses through an online component. One cannot successfully learn all there is to know about kettlebells in this short timeframe.
Certification – A kettlebells training course should offer some type of certification. This may include a form of assessment at the conclusion of the course, but this is important to produce knowledgeable kettlebell instructors. Only knowledgeable and capable kettlebell instructors will be able to provide clients with the best
